Zoom how to for Glebe Seniors

With COVID-19, everything from meetings to work outs moved to online and most of them now use Zoom. If you’re unsure about how to use Zoom, that’s understandable, but we’re here to tell you not to worry. It super easy and doesn’t take long to set up.

Firstly, what is Zoom? Zoom is a software that installs on your computer or device, iOS or Android, and it lets you hold group conversation audio-visually. Sure there are other options you’re probably already using which can do this too, like Facetime, but Zoom is specifically designed for this task. It’s not just a calling video software, it also lets you share your screen, schedule a meeting or even conduct an event in which only the host or speakers have the stage. Essentially, Zoom creates an office, or a room, but online, where people can get together, and it also lets you mute your sound or switch off your video!

Before you do anything else, you’ll need to get Zoom onto your device. This is simple and we have created an easy how-to guide for you. Once you have it set up, you can head over to the Zoom Getting Started website for easy to follow guides. The website has a bunch of video tutorials, recorded webinars, troubleshooting information, and much more!

Remember that you don’t need Zoom installed if you are attending someone else’s event or meeting. They will provide you with a link, phone number or website address code for you to plug in and attend.
