The Digital Divide in the Australian Context

Digital Nation 2020

The Good things Foundation have compiled the latest research on the digital inclusion landscape in Australia in the Digital Nation Australia 2020.

The evidence shows a divide between groups of Australians who use technology the most, and those groups who are digitally excluded, such as older Australians, lower income groups, people with disabilities and rural residing. The Digital Nation Australia shows factors related to access, affordability and ability, which impact the levels of digital inclusion and how these factors may be overcome. The image also offers ways of tackling the stark digital divide in Australia.

By understanding the factors contributing to the divide, we can all contribute to addressing the challenges faced by some of our most vulnerable Australians.
