I want to get involved
Volunteer
Services and residents in Glebe are working towards helping our community through the COVID-19 pandemic. The restrictions that protect us all from this virus also create challenges for our community, particularly those experiencing prolonged social isolation, mental health concerns, as well as Glebe's ageing population.
We are innovating new ways of tackling these challenges everyday, while keeping volunteers safe and healthy. This includes letter box drops, phone calls and conducting walks through community. You can get in touch with services to see how you can help.
Write a post
If you have ideas for posts for this site, you can email them through to socialimpactlab@uts.edu.au. Posts should be between 100 to 500 words in length and submitted via a word document attached to your email. We keep content relevant to Glebe and Forest Lodge communities so we welcome contributions from these communities too.
We will endeavour to get your post up but there may be a delay. Please flag if your post is time critical, such as notification about a community event or activity. Some posts may fall outside of the scope of what we do so may not be published, but we will let you know if that is the case.
Finally, we will have a quick gander and do any edits, add images and subheadings if required, just to optimise your post for fellow community readers!
Mutual aid
You can also contact the COVID-19 Inner West mutual aid group. Mutual aid refers to small groups of community members working together to benefit their immediate neighbourhoods. The COVID-19 mutual aid movement began in the UK earlier than Australia and so they have developed useful resources around keeping safe and helping communities, that we can use here.
Keep an eye on this page for more ways to get involved.
