Community Notice: Smiles don't spread COVID
Hey Mob!
We need to talk...
We know that things have been stressful lately. This COVID stuff has dramatically and rapidly changed the way we, as friends, families and as a Glebe Community, engage, work and play. We understand it’s taken us all a little bit of time to adjust, find some hand sanitiser and work out how to physically distance while remaining socially connected.
But one thing that really scares us is that in a matter of 4 weeks, our community has transformed from smiley cruising pedestrians to a sea of sombre people walking as-quickly-as-possible from A to B. Sure, it’s important that we aren’t wandering around the streets without a reason at the moment but, while you are venturing outside to re-stock your supplies or enjoy your 30 minute body move and groove around town, try to spread some community cheer!
Remember, Smiles DON’T spread COVID!
In Glebe, we are a community that comes together to support each other. Sadly, walking down Glebe Point Road of late, it’s easy to forget that we are all in this together.
The power of a smile and a friendly wave can spread a lot of joy. Remember, as a diverse community, there are some of us who might not live with family or friends during lockdown. This means that some of our community members might need a friendly stranger’s smile to brighten their day more than others.
So, Glebe, let’s spread joy! …and remind everyone in our community that we are all here for each other – even if we are kept distanced momentarily by COVID safety measures.
SMILE as if you are on camera
WAVE to a stranger you pass on the street, and
SPREAD joy around our community! Because one small act of kindness, like a smile or a chalk drawing on the sidewalk can ripple a long way through community.
…. Feeling disconnected? Why not have a yarn with the Glebe Connect team or pop out as they walk by.
