Counterpoint community services
we all need a hand sometimes
The Counterpoint support and advocacy community services have been operating since 1977 and work to support individuals, families, and community groups.
Their mission covers assistance and relief services for poverty, sickness and distress through the provision of community support services and facilities for anyone in need. Counterpoint also have capacity building, specialized children’s services and much more.
By building community and inclusion, Counterpoint support the members of each community they work with. Their community centers provide a space for interest groups, community advocacy action, space for events and programs, and where partner agencies can offer their services to community. They have two community centers - Waterloo and Alexandria. Counterpoint run programs for a broad range of culturally diverse groups.
For families and children, Counterpoint offers poets corner preschool, supported playgroups (Waterloo and Alexandria) and targeted family support.
