Current COVID Restrictions for Sydney and Glebe
The Latest on COVID Restrictions
The government has planned a three stage staggered approach to lifting lockdown restrictions, however NSW will be erring on the side of caution.
You can always read what you can and can’t do under the current rules here.
Current Rules
The current rules regarding restrictions in NSW are as follows:
Gyms must have a COVID-19 Safety Hygiene Marshal present at all times the gym is open and be registered as COVID Safe.
Hospitality venues, including cafes and restaurants, breweries, cellar doors, clubs, bars, and casinos, will have to follow the same restrictions as pubs and will need to register as a COVID Safe business.
A number of other venues will also need to register as a COVID Safe venue, including places of public worship, funeral homes and crematoria.
Places of public worship such as churches, synagogues and temples will be limited to 100 people at all times or one person per 4 square metres, whichever is the lesser.
Crematoria and funeral homes will now have to have COVID-19 Safety Plans.
Rules for corporate events have changed.
Business owners and organisers will need to collect the time a customer was at the premises.

Melbourne Situation Update
Under the current Public Health Order, the NSW Government has deemed that all of Melbourne is currently a Covid-19 hotspot. Anyone who has been in Melbourne in the past 14 days, including those already in NSW, must self-isolate for 14 days from the time they were last there. The border to Victoria has also been closed.
Heavy fines and jail terms can apply if someone who has been in Melbourne in the past 14 days does not self-isolate and visits city venues or facilities.
Even as we see the regulations relax, it’s important to continue to practice caution. Wash your hands with soap regularly, maintain a safe distance from other people and if you’re feeling unwell, seek medical advice. We must remain vigilant to avoid another round of COVID-19 in our communities.
Check NSW Government pages regularly for updates. You can also see how the City of Sydney is responding on their News page.
