Free Glebe August Art Exhibits
The Shop Gallery in Glebe are hosting a number of free exhibits throughout August highlighting the works of a diverse group of artists.
The Shop Gallery is located at 112 Glebe Point Road and all exhibits run from Thursday 6 August to Sunday 23 August starting at 11am each day.
Regeneration
The Regeneration exhibit highlights the works Joy Dodd, Kate Robinson, Jo Ann Hopkins and Kim McClintock.
The exhibit highlights their unique artistic processes. Dodd takes inspiration from the natural environment in the creation of her handwoven garments and accessories while Robinson makes stoneware ceramic sculptures as a personal response to drought, fires and pandemic. Hopkins practices marquetry, the art of using the grain and colour of veneers to make patterns in recycled timber and McClintock sketches and paints with watercolours.
This exhibit runs from Thursday 6 to Wednesday 12 August every day from 11am to 6pm with an opening event on Saturday 8 August from 2 to 4pm.

Dennis Wolley
This exhibit highlights the works of local artist Dennis Wolley who took up painting to occupy his mind during his sickness. His artwork is colourful and Dennis says that he “hopes others will feel happy when they see [his] art.“
The exhibit runs from Thursday 13 to Wednesday 19 August every day from 11am to 7pm.

Heidi Jackson and Katrina Collins
This exhibit highlights the works of Heidi Jackson and Katrina Collins, two painters with a long history as artists and art teachers with an extensive exhibition and professional history spanning two decades.
Jackson’s work expresses her personal responses to moments or more sustained experiences places as landscapes that are defined by tracts of sky, bodies of water, country roads and the personally significant destinations they lead to. Jackson was awarded the Glebe Art Prize in 2019.
Collins paints abstract works that document a lifetime of observing colour relationships in her environment. The works create vivid systems of colour, shape and form. Collins was awarded the RAW prize for best emerging artist in 2017.
This exhibit runs from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 August every day from 11am to 5pm with an opening event on Saturday 22 August from 1 to 5pm.
